Sleeping And Your Hair
Sleeping And Your Hairstyle
Sleeping can do some very strange things to your hair. To prevent them, or to style your hair as you sleep, consider these tips on the nights you can:
To Give Straight Hair Body
Draw your hair up into loose ponytail on the top of your haid. By morning, the hair will will have "lifted" on the front and sides. To hold this lfit, apply a little gel.
For Soft Curls
Using pin-curl clips (these are flat and don't mark the hair), shape even-sized clumps of wet or dry hair (sides and bottom only, not the hair on top) into pin-curl shapes, clip into shape and go to sleep.
For extra staying power, comb gel or setting lotion throught the hair before making the curls.
For Tight Curls
Some products enable curling and sleeping at the same time. Benders are like pipe cleaners, but come in fabric with a wire inside for twisting. You roll dry hair around them (more or less hair for looser or tighter curls), then pull the ends together.
For Deep Conditioning Overnight
Slather on a penetrating conditioner, cover with a shower cap and go to sleep. Your hair will feel terrific by morning.
If your hair is long, pile it on top of your head with a big barrette. The shower cap will not fall off, but for added security, warp your pillow in a bath towel.
Sleep well knowing your hair will not be a mess :-)
